KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 (Bernama) -- The 2025 Beijing Chaoyang International Light Festival, themed “Together! We Shine!”, is lighting up the city from Sept 26 through October, dazzling visitors with a spectacular fusion of modern technology, art, and culture.
This year’s event features nearly 60 large-scale light and sculpture installations created in collaboration with internationally acclaimed director Richard Taylor, Singaporean light artists, China’s top art academies, and the China Urban Sculpture Artists Association.
The festival’s main venue transforms Liangma River and Chaoyang Park into a glowing wonderland, showcasing interactive aquatic performances with mechanical creatures like the Blue Whale and Pegasus.
Highlights include live symphony concerts, the animated family show Shaun the Sheep, and the opening of Beijing’s first outdoor water-based performance space, the renovated Shell Theater, according to a statement.
Pop culture elements such as the “Star Bear” stage at POP MART City and immersive urban installations add a playful, contemporary edge.
In collaboration with the 2025 Liangma River Art Season, which features renowned domestic and international artists, over 100 performances and art collaborations promise a vibrant experience blending light, dreams, and urban discovery for residents and visitors alike.
