BOOMI ACCELERATES BAKERS DELIGHT’S DIGITAL ROLLOUT

Bakers Delight Modernises Digital Marketing Systems and Accelerates Deployment Times With Boomi

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- Boomi, the data activation company for artificial intelligence (AI), announced that Bakers Delight has modernised its digital marketing systems using the Boomi Enterprise Platform, significantly reducing the time required to roll out new systems.

In a statement, Boomi said the deployment has also given the Australian-owned bakery franchise greater agility to respond to changing market conditions.

Boomi Chief Technology Officer (CTO), APJ, David Irecki said Bakers Delight’s approach demonstrates how integration can serve as a strategic business capability to accelerate innovation and improve agility.

Meanwhile, Bakers Delight CTO, Keng Ng said the company needed a foundation that could support rapid, low-cost deployment of new systems while eliminating the cost and complexity of repeatedly re-engineering integrations.

The company, which operates more than 700 stores across Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States under the Bakers Delight and COBS Bread brands, is preparing for a major technology renewal in early 2027.

Bakers Delight implemented Boomi’s Data Hub and API Management capabilities across customer, product, store location, promotion, coupon and order processes, creating a reusable integration architecture that connects its digital marketing platforms without requiring major changes to core enterprise resource planning and point-of-sale systems.

The reusable architecture helped accelerate deployments of Klaviyo, Shopify and Talon. One, which went live in three, four and nine months respectively across the company’s global franchise network. Centralised integration and master data also enabled Bakers Delight to respond quickly to cost fluctuations in early 2026 by revising prices consistently across systems.

Boomi’s consulting support helped establish the integration programme, while the company’s internal data engineering capabilities and technology vendors supported subsequent implementations.

The integration platform is expected to support further digital expansion by enabling richer enterprise data collection and laying the foundation for the use of AI and AI agents across the business.

PEREGRINE COLD LOGISTICS ENTERS INDONESIA WITH JOINT VENTURE

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 1 (Bernama) -- Peregrine Cold Logistics (Peregrine), Asia’s unified cold storage and logistics platform, has entered Indonesia through a joint venture with Indonesian real estate developer Sinar Primera to acquire and develop tier-one cold storage assets across the country.

The partnership combines the acquisition of an existing Sinar Primera-owned facility in Pluit with a new greenfield development in Narogong, expanding Peregrine’s cold chain footprint in Southeast Asia’s largest economy.

Peregrine co-founder and chief executive officer, Jeff Hogarth said the Indonesia entry marks a significant milestone in the company’s strategy to build an integrated international cold chain platform.

“Our objective is not simply to build capacity in Indonesia, but to connect the market into our broader ASEAN and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) network, creating a more integrated logistics solution for customers and a platform for long-term growth across the region,” he said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Sinar Primera Group head, Hong Kah Jin said the partnership combines Peregrine’s cold chain expertise and international client base with Sinar Primera’s local market execution and infrastructure capabilities, supporting Indonesia’s growing demand for temperature-controlled infrastructure.

The partnership builds on Peregrine’s existing cold chain platform in the Philippines and is aimed at addressing rising demand for modern cold storage infrastructure in Indonesia, driven by rising incomes, urbanisation and increasingly sophisticated food and retail sectors.

The Pluit facility is strategically positioned to serve customers across northern and western Jakarta, while the new Narogong facility will feature semi-automated freezer and chiller capacity meeting global standards and anchor a hub-and-spoke network.

Together, the facilities are expected to support food producers, importers and exporters, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies and quick-service restaurant (QSR) chains, while strengthening food safety and security across Indonesia’s supply chains.

The joint venture will leverage Sinar Primera’s local market development expertise, land access and execution capabilities alongside Peregrine’s international cold chain network and operational experience to scale its Indonesian platform.

ARC’TERYX INTRODUCES SYSTEM 0 CIRCULAR DESIGN FRAMEWORK

Arc’teryx athlete, Craig Murray, wearing the Sperro SV, a multisport mountain-grade hardshell built with circular design principles, available September 4, 2026.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 (Bernama) -- Arc’teryx Equipment, a global designer of technical high-performance apparel and equipment, has introduced System 0, a new framework designed to embed circularity across the product lifecycle, from design and manufacturing through use, repair and end-of-life regeneration.

The first product under the framework is the Sperro SV jacket, a mountain-grade hardshell designed for durability, repairability and disassembly for recycling at end of life. The jacket uses GORE-TEX Pro fabric with an ePE membrane, while its nylon face fabric and backer were separately designed for recyclability in partnership with Aquafil, the manufacturer of ECONYL regenerated nylon.

Available globally from Sept 4 through Arc’teryx stores and its website, the Sperro SV is positioned as the brand’s most advanced hardshell jacket and is intended to demonstrate that circular design can be integrated into technical apparel without compromising performance.

“System 0 represents a fundamental shift in how we build and scale our business with circularity front of mind. For decades, Arc’teryx has built gear that is meant to be repaired, not replaced. This is the next step forward,” said Arc’teryx Chief Executive Officer, Stuart Haselden in a statement.

The Sperro SV is the first product certified under TESTEX Circularity, a standard Arc’teryx said it co-developed to address gaps in existing circular product standards. The certification evaluates the jacket’s durability, repairability and ability to undergo chemical recycling.

System 0 builds on Arc’teryx’s existing ReBIRD ecosystem of washing, repair, trade-in, resale and upcycling initiatives. The company said the new framework extends these principles across design, sourcing, manufacturing, customer experience, repair and end-of-life recovery as part of an effort to make circularity a scalable operating model.

The Sperro SV has been tested by alpine professionals, including Vancouver’s North Shore Rescue. It features reinforcement at common failure points, including an easily replaceable zipper slider, and comes with three years of unlimited out-of-warranty repairs through ReBIRD.

When the jacket is no longer repairable, its fabric can undergo chemical recycling to separate the nylon from the GORE-TEX membrane. The nylon is then returned to Aquafil to be regenerated into ECONYL yarn for new products.

XSOLLA, ACCELBYTE UNVEIL INTEGRATED GAME BACKEND, PAYMENT SOLUTIONS

Graphic: Xsolla

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 (Bernama) -- Xsolla, a global video game commerce company, has introduced integrated backend solutions for game developers through a founding partnership with AccelByte, a fully managed extensible games backend platform.

Concurrently, Xsolla has opened a closed testing programme for a combined solution that pairs AccelByte Gaming Services (AGS) with Xsolla's global payments and monetisation tools.

Select developers can now apply for early access and help shape the integration ahead of its broader launch, according to Xsolla in a statement.

“Our first test partners will help us prove that a studio can stand up backend services and global payments together, without staffing separate teams for each, and get to market faster as a result,” said Xsolla President, Chris Hewish.

Meanwhile, AccelByte Chief Executive Officer and Technical Director, Junaili Lie said: “We are excited to partner with Xsolla, which shares our belief in making powerful technology accessible to studios of every size. By combining our technology and expertise, we can help studios launch faster, operate smarter, and reach players globally.”

Under the partnership, Xsolla brings AccelByte's backend services together with its payments and monetisation solutions in one integrated stack, shaped by direct input from studios shipping live games. This allows studios to avoid stitching separate solutions together on their own.

During the closed testing period, partner studios will help validate the feature set and modular implementation options. AccelByte's backend services, including player management and matchmaking, will be combined with Xsolla's payment, subscription, monetisation and identity services in an interoperable layer.

In addition, studios can stand up and operate live game services without building backend infrastructure in-house or staffing dedicated LiveOps teams, reducing time-to-market and accelerating iteration cycles.

Through Xsolla's global game payment platform, participating studios gain access to more than 1,000 payment methods across over 200 geographies, opening new revenue channels for games.

JPG’S 2QFY2026 REVENUE RISES 16.6% AS INTEGRATED GROWTH STRATEGY ADVANCES

JOHOR BAHRU, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- Johor Plantations Group Berhad (JPG or the Group) recorded revenue of RM415.8 million for the second quarter ended 30 June 2026 (2QFY2026), representing a 16.6% increase from the preceding quarter. The improvement was supported by higher fresh fruit bunch (FFB) processing volumes and increased external crop contribution.

Internal FFB production rose by 5.2% quarter-on-quarter, while external FFB intake increased by 28.4% as the Group optimised its available milling capacity following the seasonally softer first quarter. Total FFB processed was consequently 13.0% higher. The Group also benefited from favourable commodity prices, with average selling prices for crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel (PK) rising by 9.0% and 10.1% quarter-on-quarter, respectively.

For the six months ended 30 June 2026 (1HFY2026), the Group recorded revenue of RM772.5 million, representing growth of 4.6% compared with the corresponding period last year, while Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at RM101.6 million.

In line with the Group’s performance, the Board declared a second interim dividend of 1.10 sen per share for FY2026, reaffirming JPG’s commitment to delivering sustainable returns to shareholders.

JPG further widened its external certified crop-sourcing network through the Smallholder Inclusion Programme (SIP), which now brings together 390 RSPO-certified smallholders. The programme supports crop availability while advancing JPG’s long-term sustainable sourcing and social inclusion objectives, enabling greater participation by independent smallholders in the sustainable palm oil supply chain. It also enhances sourcing flexibility and mill utilisation, reinforcing JPG’s broader ecosystem approach to value creation.

The Group continues to focus on enhancing its upstream fundamentals through accelerated replanting, deployment of superior planting materials and ongoing estate improvement initiatives. These efforts are aimed at enhancing long-term crop resilience and supporting sustainable productivity growth over time.

“While crop production remains influenced by biological and seasonal factors, we continue to strengthen the foundations of the business through disciplined estate management, accelerated replanting, expansion of our external crop ecosystem and the ongoing development of Integrated Sustainable Palm Oil Complex (iSPOC). These initiatives reinforce our integrated value chain strategy and position JPG for sustainable long-term value creation,” said Mohd Faris Adli Shukery, Managing Director of JPG.

Phase 1 of iSPOC entered the commissioning phase in 3Q2026 and remains on track for commercial operations by year-end 2026, marking an important milestone in JPG’s downstream expansion and integrated growth strategy.

About Johor Plantations Group Berhad

Johor Plantations Group Berhad (JPG) is a Malaysian palm oil producer transforming into a nextgeneration integrated palm oil business. JPG is principally involved in the cultivation of oil palm and the production of crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernels (PK). Its core operations focus on owning, managing, and harvesting fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from estates located primarily in the state of Johor. JPG’s subsidiaries support its upstream activities through the production of biomethane, sales of oil palm seedlings, trading of palm oil products, and the supply of agricultural machinery, plantation-related products, training, and safety services.

JPG was listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia on 9 July 2024 with ultimate shareholding by Johor Corporation (JCorp). All of the Group's estates are fully certified under both the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) standards, and JPG is a constituent of the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Index.

JPG's growth strategy is built on two pillars under its 10-year roadmap to 2033: Greenutrition, the production of sustainable oils and fats, and Greenergy, the generation of bioenergy from renewable and sustainable resources. Its flagship Integrated Sustainable Palm Oil Complex (iSPOC) Phase 1, which entered the commissioning phase in 3QFY2026, will advance a circular economy model powered entirely by renewable energy generated from palm oil mill by-products. Integrating a specialty oils and fats refinery, palm oil mill, palm kernel crushing plant, animal feed mill and bioenergy power plant, iSPOC will mark the Group's entry into the downstream value chain.

TEMPLAFY LAUNCHES FREE AI AGENT FOR POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- Templafy, the agentic document generation platform, has launched the Templafy Agent Add-In, a free artificial intelligence (AI) agent that enables users to create, edit and review presentations without leaving PowerPoint.

Available to download from Microsoft Marketplace and free for individual PowerPoint users, the add-in brings document agents directly into the presentation workflow, enabling both the creation of new presentations and editing tasks.

According to Templafy, users can ask the agent to create new slides, rewrite or translate a presentation, fix formatting, add editable charts and tables, as well as review content, through a conversational interface before it is shared.

“By bringing agents directly into PowerPoint, we are extending AI from creation into iteration, so users can keep working with the agent as their presentation evolves, inside the workflow they already know.

“When connected to Templafy, this becomes even more powerful as the agent is grounded in company knowledge and governed centrally, bringing the speed of AI together with the context and control enterprises need,” said Templafy Chief Product Officer, Oskar Konstantyner in a statement.

Templafy customers can connect the agent to approved company content and context, including templates and layouts, content libraries, brand rules, product information and business data. This enables teams to use AI while drawing on information and content their organisation already trusts.

Meanwhile, for enterprises, this can mean less time spent searching for the right slide, checking the latest messaging or correcting branding and formatting at the end of the process.

Templafy said Microsoft 365 administrators can also deploy the add-in to relevant users or groups across the organisation, in addition to centrally distributing rules governing AI document creation, reducing the need for complex prompting or configuration by individual users.

XSOLLA ADDS OVER 15 PAYMENT METHODS TO EXPAND GLOBAL REACH

Graphic: Xsolla

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- Xsolla, a global video game commerce company, has added more than 15 new payment methods to Xsolla Payments ahead of Gamescom 2026, spanning Asia and Oceania; Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA); and the Americas.

“Players in these markets are ready to spend. They just need to pay the way they already pay everywhere else. Every method we add is one more market where a developer can capture a sale they would have lost at checkout,” said Xsolla President, Chris Hewish.

Xsolla in a statement said game developers and publishers can now accept the local payment methods players already use across markets from Indonesia and the Philippines to Germany, France, and the United States, without additional integration.

According to Xsolla, the shift towards local payment methods is reshaping the digital payments landscape well beyond emerging markets. Across Europe, banks and regulators are building account-to-account and instant-payment alternatives to international cards, while the demand for local and instant payment options is growing worldwide.

Merchants that add a market’s top payment methods alongside cards have seen sales grow by up to 35 per cent, based on Xsolla data. Integrating more than 15 new methods helps developers capture previously unreachable revenue and reduce checkout abandonment, while allowing studios to expand their global reach without additional development complexity.

In Asia and Oceania, new methods include Mandiri in Indonesia, ShopeePay in the Philippines, LINE Pay in Taiwan, Octopus in Hong Kong, 7/11 (Konbini) in Japan and Zip Co in Australia. China UnionPay also expands its coverage into new regions and adds 35 local currencies.

Meanwhile, in EMEA, developers gain Wero in Germany and Belgium; Pay by Bank in Romania and Bulgaria; FLOA Pay, a buy-now, pay-later option in France; Bancomat Pay and MyBank in Italy; IRIS Commerce in Greece; and CliQ in Jordan.

In the United States (US), Aeropay brings Pay by Bank to Xsolla Payments, allowing players to pay directly from their bank accounts, one of the fastest-growing ways US consumers pay online.

The new methods are delivered through the existing Xsolla Payments integration, so developers already using the platform can enable options relevant to their markets without additional development work.

HDC Strengthens Malaysia’s Halal Ecosystem by Facilitating Strategic Industry Linkages for International Market Entry

PETALING JAYA, Aug 17 (Bernama) -- The Halal Development Corporation Berhad (HDC), an agency under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), continues to reinforce its role as the central agency in driving Malaysia’s halal industry development by facilitating strategic industry linkages that enhance market access and strengthen the national halal ecosystem.

As part of its ongoing efforts to advance Malaysia’s position as a global halal hub, HDC has successfully coordinated a targeted business matching initiative connecting Malaysian halal-certified suppliers with an international food and beverage brand, Owh My Duck (OMD), which is set to commence operations at Ombak KLCC in August 2026.

This initiative shows HDC’s mandate to develop a robust, inclusive and globally competitive halal value chain, ensuring that foreign market entrants are seamlessly integrated into Malaysia’s well-regulated halal ecosystem while creating tangible opportunities for domestic industry players, as prescribed in the Halal Industry Master Plan 2030.

An expansion of a Jakarta-based restaurant brand, OMD is entering the Malaysian market with a commitment to obtain Malaysia Halal Certification within its initial phase of operations. In supporting this process, HDC worked closely with relevant stakeholders, including Hartaniaga Capital Berhad and UOB Malaysia to ensure that sourcing requirements are aligned with Malaysia’s halal standards and ecosystem capabilities.

Through HDC’s facilitation, local halal-certified companies have been successfully identified to meet OMD’s operational needs, enabling the sourcing of a comprehensive range of halal-certified products and services from Malaysian suppliers.

In line with its data-driven approach, HDC leveraged its Halal Integrated Platform (HIP), a centralised industry database, to identify qualified suppliers and coordinate participation in the sourcing programme held recently at UOB Plaza 1, Kuala Lumpur. The programme recorded strong participation, with 204 Malaysian companies demonstrating readiness and capability to support international supply chain requirements.

This structured engagement shows the depth and maturity of Malaysia’s halal industry, spanning key segments such as fresh produce, poultry, dry goods, and value-added food products, further supporting the country’s capacity to support global halal businesses.

HDC Interim Chief Executive Officer, Hanisofian Alias said, “HDC’s role is to ensure that Malaysia’s halal ecosystem remains integrated, competitive and responsive to global market needs. Through platforms such as HIP, we can systematically connect international demand with domestic capabilities, ensuring that Malaysian halal industry players are positioned to benefit from global market opportunities.”

"Facilitating cross-border expansion requires a reliable and compliant network, and Malaysia's halal ecosystem provided exactly that," stated Dr. Shahril Nizam, CEO of Hartaniaga Capital Berhad. "Our strategic collaboration with HDC and UOB Malaysia has significantly expedited and simplified the entire facilitation process, making it much easier and faster to achieve our objectives. By partnering with them to match OMD with local suppliers and central kitchens, we have ensured OMD's seamless entry into Malaysia while creating a win-win scenario that perfectly balances international expansion with local market empowerment."

To further strengthen industry readiness, HDC also collaborated with UOB Malaysia under its Go Halal program, launched in October 2025, to support participating SMEs through capacity-building initiatives, advisory support and access to tailored financial solutions, enabling them to scale and meet international business requirements. This collaborative approach is a whole-of-ecosystem effort to enhance the competitiveness and resilience of Malaysian halal enterprises.

The initiative demonstrates Malaysia’s continued leadership as a premier halal hub, where strong governance, established standards and coordinated industry development efforts create a conducive environment for both local and international stakeholders.
