JOHOR BAHRU, July 26 (Bernama) --
A cervical cancer awareness programme using self-sampling
tool Cervisafe, has benefited 700 women since November last year.
Malaysian Technology Development
Corporation (MTDC) chief executive officer Datuk Norhalim Yunus said the
Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) had entrusted them to carry
out the social innovation programme.
He said MTDC had cooperated with
LaDIY Healthcare Sdn Bhd to hold the programme at various locations throughout
Malaysia, with the local company providing free Cervisafe kits to women
eligible for a cervical cancer sampling test, namely those who were married,
have had children, and frequently engaged in intercourse.
According to Norhalim,
Cervisafe is a quick and easy self-sampling tool produced by LaDIY
Healthcare for early detection of cervical cancer-causing viruses.
