Recently,
Mr. Yang Guomei, a photographer of Dafeng District of Yancheng in
Jiangsu, was awarded with Golden Horse Prize for Chinese Arts, as the
only prize winner of Yancheng City. It is informed that the prize
awarding ceremony for 2017 Fifth Golden Horse Prize for Chinese Arts was
solemnly held in the beautiful big grassland in Mongolia, at Genghis
Khan Camp known with the largest Mongolian Yurt gathering in the world.
This camp once served as the site of an Asia-Europe Summit, receiving
state heads of dozens of countries.
The Golden Horse Prize for
Chinese Arts is aimed as praising and honouring excellent Chinese
artists having won outstanding achievements in the field of culture and
arts, reputed as top of art prizes for Chinese. The Golden Horse Prize
for photographing is the highest prize for Chinese photographing. Since
its inauguration in 2006, 4 sessions have been held successfully in four
cities of Taipei, Hong Kong, Xilingol and Taichung, the fifth session
of Golden Horse Prize for Chinese Arts this year was held respectively
in Jilin of China and Ulan Bator of Mongolia.
Yang Guomei is a
member of the Chinese Photographers Society, and honorary president of
Photographers Society of Yancheng City, called amiably by all as
"farmers' photographer". He has over 200 photos awarded with various
prized in 52 countries including UK, the US, France, Germany, Greece and
Switzerland. He has two collections of photography published, and in
2006, "Chinese Pere David's Deer -- Collection of Yang Guomei's
Photographing Works" was given as a gift to Annan, then Secretary
General of the United Nations.
