Flowchem Reinforces Leadership Team With Key Appointments

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 18 (Bernama) -- Flowchem, a global leader in the drag reducing agents (DRA) market, has announced several key personnel additions to its management teams, reinforcing its position for continued growth.

These new appointments bolster the company’s leadership and support its ongoing growth following its acquisition by SCF Partners in 2024. The latest hires are aimed at advancing Flowchem’s technology, innovation, and operational capabilities, positioning the company as an industry leader.

Shivali Agarwal has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO). With decades of global operational experience, Agarwal most recently served as Group General Manager, Production Systems at SLB.

She holds an Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School and has academic qualifications in Biological Sciences and Chemical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, India.

In addition to the new COO, Flowchem has also strengthened its technology team with several key technical hires. Dr Lu-Chien Chou, a recognised authority in DRA research, has joined the company after leading advanced DRA projects at Baker Hughes, while John Stephens, with decades of experience in industrial chemical research and development, also joins Flowchem after positions at Siege Engineering and PPG Industries.

These scientific leaders will enhance Flowchem’s DRA technology and ensure its continued industry-leading performance in reducing operational costs and emissions, according to a statement.

Flowchem Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jon Blair expressed his enthusiasm about the new leadership appointments, stating that Agarwal’s leadership and expertise as well as the enhanced technology team would help the company continue improving its DRA solutions and increase value for customers globally.

Meanwhile, SCF Partners Managing Director, Dan West also expressed excitement about the new appointments, highlighting the company's commitment to delivering safer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly infrastructure operations while accelerating its growth.

The company also formed a distinguished Board of Directors composed of senior energy and chemicals industry figures, including Forum Energy Technologies former CEO, Cris Gaut (Chairman); Colonial Pipeline’s former President and CEO, Joe Blount; and other notable executives from leading companies in the sector.
