CYBERJAYA, Sept 8 (Bernama) -- DXN Holdings Bhd. today announced its partnership with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) as the Strategic Partner for Agrovator@Sekolah, reinforcing the DXN’s commitment to nation-building and empowering the next generation of agricultural leaders. A flagship national initiative by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) implemented by MDEC, the program will equip at least 1,000 students across 50 schools nationwide with modern technology, digital solutions, and practical innovation skills to transform Malaysia's agriculture sector.
Under the partnership, DXN will support the programme through funding and in-kind contributions, with DXN Cyberville in Cyberjaya, one of Malaysia’s established technology and innovation hubs, serving as the central venue for the semi-final and final stage of Agrovator@Sekolah. Approximately 85 students have been selected for semi-final & final stage to continue their journey, lasting 19 days, with DXN's Cyberjaya premises serving as a key learning hub throughout the programme. Students will be hosted at DXN Cyberville's accommodation suites and make use of its Grand Ballroom, Conference Hall and meeting and function rooms, alongside wellness and recreational amenities such as its swimming pool, gym and cafeteria. The collaboration will give participating students a hands-on environment to learn, explore and experience how technology and innovation can be applied to agriculture, while creating meaningful engagement between DXN and the next generation of young innovators.
The partnership extends DXN's long standing track record of nation building and community investment in Malaysia. This includes a co-teaching English confidence programme with Northern Illinois University delivered through Jemaah Pengurusan Sekolah Maahad Imtiyaz in Selangor, which helped students build fluency and self-assurance in speaking English, a model DXN and its partners hope to scale from its current base to the national and global stage. DXN has also directed sustained support across four flagship national commitments, through Yayasan Prihatin Nasional, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)'s education and healthcare development, human capital and socioeconomic development in Kedah, and MyGrocer@Wilayah's food access initiative. In Kedah, DXN's home state, this has included support for Program Tuisyen Rakyat Kedah Sejahtera, a state tuition programme helping students strengthen their academic foundation, alongside Program Bakti Siswa Perdana Negeri Kedah and Program Latihan dan Persijilan Profesional Digital dan Teknologi Kedah (PRODITEK). These sit alongside dozens of schools, higher education and community programmes spanning health and welfare relief, and youth and sports development nationwide.
“Agrovator@Sekolah demonstrates the value of public-private collaboration in equipping young Malaysians with the skills and confidence to apply digital and emerging technologies to real-world agricultural challenges, " said Anuar Fariz Fadzil, Chief Executive Officer of MDEC.
“Through this partnership with DXN, MDEC aims to nurture a new generation of digitally capable innovators who can contribute to a more productive, sustainable and resilient agriculture sector. By developing a future-ready talent pipeline from an early age, this initiative will support Malaysia’s ambition to become an AI Nation by 2030, while strengthening national food security and advancing the digital economy.”
"DXN has always believed that a company's success is inseparable from the wellbeing of the communities and the nation it operates in," said Prajith Pavithran, Group Chief Executive Officer of DXN Holdings Bhd. "Supporting Agrovator@Sekolah is a natural extension of the work we have done over the years in education, healthcare and community development across Malaysia. We are proud to open our doors to these students and to play a part in shaping the innovators who will help drive Malaysia's digital and agricultural future."
"We have seen first-hand what a difference the right kind of support can make. Our co-teaching programme with Northern Illinois University, delivered through Jemaah Pengurusan Sekolah Maahad Imtiyaz, gave students the confidence to stand up and speak English fluently in front of their peers, a small moment that can reshape a young person's sense of what is possible for them," said Mahmood Hisham, Group Chief Operating Officer of DXN Holdings Bhd. "Partnering with MDEC on Agrovator@Sekolah lets us bring that same belief, that every Malaysian student deserves the tools and the confidence to compete on a global stage, into agriculture and technology, sectors that are central to Malaysia's future growth."
