MICF Attractions Include 'Hearme Hearme' Campaign And 'Teddy Bear Hospital Program'
SHAH ALAM, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- The 'HearMe HearMe' Campaign and the
'Teddy Bear Hospital Program' are among the major attractions of the
three-day Malaysia Islamic Children's Fair (MICF) which began today at
the Shah Alam Convention Centre here.
Managing Director of Zurriyat Ventures Sdn Bhd, who is also MICF chairman, Dayang Lily Maznah Abang Muas said the MICF was a platform for various Islamic-based educational activities, products and services for children.
"For instance the 'HearMe HearMe' campaign is aimed at encouraging children to give their opinions and views on issues, and adults can give their feedback.
"This will help children build confidence to talk, discuss ideas and aspirations with their parents or other adults," she told reporters today.
Lily Maznah said children who visit MICF could participate in activities such as the 'Teddy Bear Hospital Program' managed by the Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia Children and Teens Super Team (IMACAT).
She said under the programme, children could use teddy bears to conduct basic health checks.
"This activity is among the most exciting as the teddy bears will be treated as patients while the children are the parents.
"Through this activity, we will expose the children to eye and tooth issues as well as the importance of nutritious food," she said.
The programme which is in its third year, will also include various competitions aimed at fostering family ties, such as 'Family Treasure Hunt' and 'Family Coloring Contest'.
