KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) celebrated its 60th Anniversary on July 13, at MICPA 60th Annual Dinner, held at Hilton Kuala Lumpur hotel.
Established in
1958, MICPA have been instrumental in the improvement of capital
markets, accounting education, talent development, and the provision of
leadership in the business community.
A statement
from MICPA today said the President of the International Federation
of Accountants (IFAC), Rachel Grimes, flew in from Sydney (Australia) to
officiate the event with an opening speech.
Present at
the dinner were MICPA members – Chairman of Bursa Malaysia Bhd and MIDA
Tan Sri Amirsham A. Aziz, Chairman of AmBank Group Tan Sri Azman Hashim,
Chairman of CIMB Bank Bhd and Past President of MICPA Datuk Zainal Abidin
Putih, Chairman of Maxis Bhd and Ekuinas Bhd Tan Sri Raja Arshad Raja Tun
Uda, and Past President of MICPA and Chairman of the Audit Oversight
Board and past Council Member of MICPA Datuk Gumuri Hussain among them.
Over 400
guests were present at the dinner, including regulators, members of
academia, heads and members of fellow professional bodies, member firms,
approved training employers, and graduates of the MICPA-CAANZ Programme.
