KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 (Bernama) – Persatuan Kesejahteran Rakyat
Malaysia (PKRM) has offered itself to be a conduit for the government to
convey current information to the public.
Its
chairman, Datuk Ranjith Raja, said in a statement that
PKRM has set up a platform to assist the government, especially with
regards to community and charity work that can help those in need.
“PKRM,
through its investment company, is ready to help the government get financial
returns as well as to gain profit.”
The
association has brought its proposal to Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad
to review contracts and purchase policy agreements, which will enable the
government to secure savings.
“The government
has high expectations for the GLCs/GLICs /corporate sector group, especially
involving the people’s well-being and welfare, and to enable the
government to secure sufficient financial resources to finance the country's
debt.”
According to
the statement, the process of reviewing the relevant insurance programme or
policy will in no way interfere with the current contract/agreement previously
agreed upon with the insurance company.
