KUALA LUMPUR, March 6 (Bernama) -- Galeri PETRONAS opens its exhibition calendar for 2019 with ‘Aura - Refleksi Koleksi Seni’ (Aura – Art Collection Reflection) featuring artworks from the PETRONAS art collection.
The exhibition showcases more than 30 artworks from the PETRONAS Art Collection (PAC), highlighting PETRONAS’ contributions in community well-being, education and environment, since the Company’s inception 45 years ago.
The artworks, featuring various approaches such as installation, assemblage, painting, print, photography, sculpture and video, are from more than 15 established and emerging local artists, including participants of Galeri PETRONAS’ Young Malaysian Artist programme.
Galeri PETRONAS Art Management Head, Jefri Hj Mohamed Zain, anticipates ‘Aura - Refleksi Koleksi Seni’ to ignite thoughts on PETRONAS’ identity, presence and purpose.
“There is a story behind every selected artwork in this exhibition, each has its interpretative value on creating meaning, purpose and cultivating excellence. The ‘Aura’ is able to be depicted through viewing the artworks and appreciating the invested efforts, innovations and expressions of the artists”, he added.
Galeri PETRONAS has constructed special interpretative programmes accessible to all visitors who are interested to get a better understanding and learning experience on the displayed artworks.
The ongoing exhibition is open to the public until 15 April 2019, at Galeri PETRONAS, Level 3, Suria KLCC, from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM every Tuesday to Sunday. Admission is free.
