KUALA LUMPUR, June 17 (Bernama) -- The week-long 2019 South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF) is ongoing in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, beginning June 12.
According to the event’s executive committee, exhibitors from 74 countries, regions and international organisations are featured in the exposition with a total of 3,348 enterprises from home and abroad attending the fair.
Themed, ‘A Better Gateway and Powerhouse for Shared Development and Prosperity’, Sri Lanka has been named the theme country of 2019 SSACEIF, with Cambodia, the country of honour.
This year, the event focusing on the Belt and Road Investment Cooperation, green energy, and natural forest products have been set up for the first time. Digital technologies from the Yunnan province are also displayed at a newly-opened zone.
It is estimated that contracts to be inked during the 2019 SSACEIF amounts to a total of over 600 billion yuan (about US$86.7 billion). (US$1 = RM4.18)
In addition, a series of 14 events and activities, including the 3rd China-South Asia Business Forum, 2nd China-South Asia Cooperation Forum and 7th China-South Asia Southeast Asia Think Tank Forum will also be held during the seven-day event.
