KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 -- NCSOFT, a global premier game developer and publisher, has revealed its new mobile MMORPG ‘Lineage W’ through a global online showcase titled ‘The World’.
“Lineage W is a project that pursues the ultimate Lineage,” said NCSOFT Chief Creative Officer, Taek-Jin Kim in a statement.
Lineage W is a new title succeeding the legitimacy of PC MMORPG Lineage. Lineage W was strategically developed for global players with the concept ‘Worldwide’. NCSOFT will release the new title globally this year.
Kim highlighted: “Lineage W is a compilation of the Lineage IP over the last 24 years. The game emphasises Lineage’s core values: battle, pledge, sacrifice, and honour. Lineage W will expand Lineage’s key element ‘battle community’ globally.”
Head of Lineage W Group, Sung-Gu Lee and head of Lineage W Development, Hong-Young Choi, uncovered Lineage W’s main features and service plans.
The game features a dark fantasy world presented with full 3D graphics and quarter view; various visual aspects transforming imagination to reality; and, a battle system succeeding the originality of Lineage IP with enhanced strike feedback, among others.
Lineage W introduces a single build for the global market to create ‘a global battle community’. Players from different countries can cooperate and compete in a single battleground (server).
It also supports a cross-platform play whereby players can enjoy the game on PCs through NCSOFT’s cross-play service ‘PURPLE’. Cross-play on consoles, including PlayStation5 and Nintendo Switch, is also being prepared.
NCSOFT begins the global pre-registration on Aug 19. Players can pre-register on the official website, Google Play, and App Store. In-game items are offered for all participants once the game launches.
