MEDIA ALERT: MONASH UNIVERSITY EXPERTS CAN GIVE COMMENTS ON RANGE OF TOPICS

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- Monash University has released a media alert on the availability of its several experts for comment on a range of topics including festive season, politics and security,  bushfires road safety, lifestyle and mental health, gender and religion.

Among the experts is Dr Christopher Rudiger from Department of Civil Engineering, an expert on bushfire and climate. Chris and his PhD student assess vegetation images which are available every three to four days.

The assessments can be made almost immediately after a bushfire has occurred. He can assess how damaging a fire has been and how effectively it was fought off and which areas are likely to burn in the near future, a statement said.

Under law and order, experts are able to comments on topics of family violence, intimate partner violence, domestic homicides, homicide law, sentencing, criminal law reform, children and the law as well as international human rights law, constitutional law and religious freedom.

Meanwhile, topics such as mental health, lifestyle, retail, politics, finance, economics, marketing, road safety as well as transport, traffic and construction are also available for comments of the university’s experts.
