KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 (Bernama) -- – Kids For Kids, an initiative driven by Change Your World, is Malaysia’s first nation building programme developed for kids towards the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations. Change Your World Sdn Bhd is a social enterprise founded by Kelvin and Cathryn Lim. The goal of Change Your World is to create social awareness among the youth of Malaysia, by focusing on matters that are important to them.

Kids For Kids, which was launched on 12th September 2019, is a two-month programme that caters to kids aged 9 to 12 years old. The programme aims to bridge the societal gap in the education system and to create an entrepreneurial spirit in kids.

“We believe this will be an exciting and educational programme for kids. It will be a platform for them to understand the importance of using entrepreneurial skills to innovate solutions to social issues,” says Kelvin Lim, the founder.

Kids For Kids was launched by YB Hannah Yeoh, the Member of Parliament of Malaysia for the Segambut constituency in Kuala Lumpur. She was joined by En. Hisham Hamzah, Director of Development of Cempaka International School Damansara Heights and Principal En. Ibrahim Sahadan of SK Kiaramas.

“Kids For Kids is the first-ever interschool entrepreneurial programme for students of public and international schools. This is a wonderful opportunity for our children to come together and learn about social responsibilities. The pilot programme, to be conducted in two selected schools in the Segambut constituency will encourage the exchange of knowledge, ideas and innovation among students of different backgrounds, facilitating social integration as they learn from their peers,” says YB Hannah Yeoh.

The Kids for Kids Programme is presented by UEM Sunrise, as the main sponsor. “We all have a shared responsibility in building a greater future for our children and UEM Sunrise believes Kids for Kids is aligned with our tradition of giving back to the communities where we have a presence through our developments. Our focus is on educational enhancement and community engagement; thus I am confident that this programme will deliver the desired outcomes for children in the community. In fact, one of UEM Sunrise’s main community programmes is the PINTAR School Adoption Programme. It has been conducted since 2008, benefitting  more than 22,000 students with 14 adopted schools to date,” says Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, UEM Sunrise Berhad.
