TOUR DE FRANCE SHANGHAI CRITÉRIUM 2019 SUCCESSFULLY HELD, REFLECTING GROWING INTEREST IN INTERNATIONAL SPORTS EVENTS IN CHINA

The integrated marketing solutions provider Activation Group announces world-class sports and entertainment intellectual property to expand innovative experiential marketing business

HONG KONG, Nov 18 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- 2019 Tour de France Škoda Shanghai Critérium, an international cycling competition, was held at the China Art Museum on 15 and 16 November 2019. The Tour de France champion Egan Bernal for the year 2019, a three-time Grand Slam champion Vincenzo Nibali, and a four-time Tour de France champion Christopher Froome, along with other Tour de France stars, including five world-class cycling teams and 7 outstanding local teams, participated in the event. With outstanding ability, Caleb Ewan took the lead and was crowned the champion of Tour de France Shanghai.

This press release features multimedia. View the full release here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20191116005032/en/

In 1903, the first Tour de France was held in France. The event has a history of more than 100 years and is regarded as the most prestigious event in the cycling world. In 2017, Tour de France took place in China for the first time. For the past three years, it has been held in Changsha, Beijing, Zhuji and Shanghai. Domestic and foreign, professionals and amateur cyclists as well as the public have already enjoyed Tour de France. With the support of the local municipal governments in China and partners, Tour de France in China has been held in Zhuji and Changsha, where 4,000 people participated in the closed-loop cycling event and thus broke the record of attendance. The brand of the Tour de France has been gaining traction in China as the event combines the elements of sports and entertainment with the participation of the world’s top cyclists.

Tour de France intellectual property (“IP”) combines elements of sports and entertainment as a model for sports event marketing

In recent years, an intellectual property-based operating model has been adopted in sports event marketing. In that operating model, sports events are at the core of the marketing content while the participants and audience alike can enjoy various forms of entertainment during the experiential marketing. The markets for intellectual property (“IP”) and brands can thus be developed. Taking the 2019 Tour of Shanghai as an example, domestic amateur cyclists can compete with top professional cyclists. Fans can participate in a public relations photo shoot before the game and wear personalized Tour de France yellow jerseys. The Tour de France brand has attracted a large audience, allowing them to experience the charm of Tour de France. Such experiences have formed a unique and innovative product in the intellectual property-based operating model for marketing. At the same time, the professional cyclists try their hand at singing Peking Opera, and are taken to the streets to taste traditional breakfasts in a place where Tour de France is held. Moreover, a series of retro products of Tour de France and the products of the cycling event that have been adapted to local cultures of the places where the event has been held have also been launched. These activities can promote a cultural exchange between international professional cyclists and the locals of the places where the event is held, thus expanding the market for intellectual property of Tour de France. The ingeniously personalized service to the Tour de France contestants allows them to fully enjoy their participation in the event and, at the same time, enables Tour de France to grip the host country.

The top international French sports company and Tour de France planner, Amaury Sport Organization (A.S.O.) has actively promoted the globalization of the Tour de France brand in recent years. This is aligned with the IP marketing concept of the Activation Group. The two parties have cooperated since 2017 to promote the Tour de France IP in China. Tour de France held in Changsha in 2017, Beijing, Shanghai and Zhuji at the beginning of the year has, in turn, earned its host cities fame and plentiful business opportunities. It is reported that an experience center for cycling will be opened in Zhuji in 2020. It will be positioned as a first-of-its-kind "one-stop, multi-functional, outdoor cycling tour service center", which will be complemented by the official cycling routes and themed homestays. With its strong sense of market, Activation Group has explored the integration of the Tour de France with mass consumption, enabling cyclists and sports enthusiasts to enjoy entertainment as a part of their lives.

In addition to the experience center for cycling in Zhuji, Activation Group has also announced another new strategy for Tour de France IP under which a bicycle-themed TV series "Legendary of Cycling" will be produced. As the first TV drama of its kind in China, "Legendary of Cycling" combines such elements as youth, inspirations, deduction and cycling. The production of the TV series scheduled to start in 2020. Real-time and on-the-spot shots of a Tour de France event will be included in the TV drama. For both the Tour de France brand and Activation Group, the innovative and pragmatic IP-based operating model for marketing will open up a new and sustainable consumer market.

AG&P MAKES STRATEGIC EQUITY INVESTMENT IN KANFER SHIPPING

SINGAPORE, Nov 15 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- Atlantic Gulf & Pacific (AG&P), the global downstream gas and LNG logistics company, has made a strategic equity investment in Kanfer Shipping (Kanfer), an innovative Norway-based developer of small-scale LNG sea transportation, maritime break-bulk solutions, floating storage facilities as well as LNG bunkering. Together, Kanfer and AG&P will make LNG more accessible and commercially viable for downstream customers in new and growing natural gas markets.

AG&P makes a strategic investment in Norway-based Kanfer Shipping to make LNG more accessible and commercially viable for downstream customers. Kanfer has captured the attention of the global LNG maritime infrastructure industry with its revolutionary Detachable Stern Vessel (left), that makes it easier, faster, and more efficient to break-bulk and transport LNG. (Photo: Business Wire)

Kanfer has captured the attention of the global LNG maritime infrastructure industry with its patented, unique barge design that makes breaking bulk cargoes of LNG easier, faster and more efficient. Kanfer’s revolutionary small-scale solution uses the patented Detachable Stern Vessel (DSV) design to create an advanced version of the commonly used Articulated Tug Barge (ATB). Kanfer’s DSV efficiently transports LNG to and from an FSU, FSRU or land-based LNG terminals via a small and maneuverable barge that brings LNG to drop-points up rivers and along coasts.

Kanfer’s DSV distinguishes itself by easily navigating rivers and coastlines, including in poor weather conditions and difficult sea states, an improvement over traditional ATBs. Its shallow draft allows access to gas-starved downstream customers seeking a cleaner and lower cost fuel source by minimizing onerous marine infrastructure. These advantages enable new LNG service for smaller demand centers or for larger demand centers in places that are less accessible.

“AG&P’s goal is to bring LNG to new markets. One of the missing links has been the capability to break-bulk LNG affordably. Kanfer’s designs unlock these new markets and solve a critical gap in the LNG supply chain for nascent and growing markets. We are thus delighted to bring Kanfer Shipping into AG&P’s group of companies. Under Stig Hagen’s visionary leadership, Kanfer has brought new and exciting solutions to the maritime industry that provide a compelling alternative to traditional, capital-intensive onshore LNG facilities,” said Karthik Sathyamoorthy, President of LNG Terminals and Logistics at AG&P.

“We have worked long and hard at Kanfer to find a real solution to the LNG virtual pipeline – one that stands on its commercial and technical merits. Now, we are honored to be partnered with AG&P, a global trailblazer in LNG solutions and gas logistics. Together, we will reduce the cost of LNG infrastructure through Kanfer’s innovative solutions and provide a more robust solution to improve availability and accessibility. I am very excited about the possibilities,” said Stig Anders Hagen, Managing Partner at Kanfer Shipping.

“Kanfer will benefit from AG&P’s strong heritage in engineering and infrastructure construction, its deep technical experience and end-to-end execution capabilities in serving customers anywhere in the world,” Mr. Hagen added.

“AG&P has recognized the rapid and accelerating market shift to LNG as a primary fuel for land and marine applications. Three years ago, we invested in Gas Entec, the leading LNG terminal, bunkering and fuel system engineering company, and today in Kanfer Shipping to create a unique and compelling ecosystem for the development of LNG and gas delivery systems. Kanfer’s expertise complements and expands our passion for an integrated approach to LNG logistics and will enable us to reach new customers in Southeast Asia, the Caribbean and beyond,” said Jose P. Ibazeta, Director of AG&P.

Together, AG&P, Kanfer and partners will offer project owners and customers a fully integrated solution comprising:
  • LNG supply;
  • Large-scale LNG transportation;
  • Large-scale Floating Storage (FSU);
  • Small-scale LNG shipping for downstream distribution;
  • Small-scale FSU;
  • Onshore logistics and onsite infrastructure to provide reliable supply to downstream demand centers and
  • A delivered cost to the customers’ doorstep.

Kanfer is already coordinating with global LNG companies to provide solutions to deliver LNG from FSUs to small demand centers or remote markets. It was announced earlier this year that ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) Shipping & Logistics are having a cooperation in the small-scale LNG segment with Kanfer. Later Japan’s INPEX CORPORATION also joined the cooperation. Customers value the Kanfer DSV’s full ocean-going capability, advanced sea state tolerance, flexibly sized storage, shallow draft and proven technology.

BWLPG.OL Q3 2019 - CONDENSED CONSOLIDATED INTERIM FINANCIAL INFORMATION

SINGAPORE, Nov 22 (Bernama-GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
- Highest ever quarterly net profit of US$117 million
- Fleet wide VLGC TCE freight rates averaged US$48,100 per day
- TCE income of US$185 million, EBITDA of US$149 million with an EBITDA margin of 80.9%, generating a net profit after tax of US$117 million or US$0.83 per share
- Current dividend policy amended from a semi-annual to a quarterly dividend payout
- Declared Q3 2019 cash dividend of US$0.33 per share, bringing the YTD 2019 cash dividend to US$0.43 per share

In the third quarter, BW LPG Limited ("BW LPG", the "Company", OSE ticker code: "BWLPG.OL") achieved the highest ever quarterly net profit of US$117 million, underpinned by outstanding commercial performance and a strong VLGC freight market.

In light of the solid financial performance, the Board has amended the current dividend policy from a semi-annual to a quarterly dividend payout. The Board also declared a further dividend of US$0.33 per share amounting to US$45.7 million for Q3 2019. The dividend will be paid around 6 December 2019 to shareholders on record as at 27 November 2019. The shares will be traded ex-dividend from 26 November 2019. Together with the US$0.10 per share dividend paid for 1H 2019, the YTD 2019 interim dividends declared totals US$0.43 per share.

VLGC freight rates showed strength throughout the third quarter, mainly supported by overall strong US LPG exports and high geographical LPG price spreads. The expansion of enterprise export terminal is expected to ease the US Gulf Coast export terminal capacity and support high US exports and VLGC fleet utilisation.

The growth in LPG exports is supported by strong demand for imports, mostly driven by the petrochemical sector in North-East Asia as well as the retail sector from emerging markets in the subcontinent and across Asia. The expectation is therefore that ton-mile demand for VLGCs will increase, giving a positive freight outlook for the remainder of 2019 and 2020.

MPMA-DOW-SCIENTEX SEES INCREASED WASTE MANAGEMENT AWARENESS IN MELAKA YOUTH

MELAKA, Nov 15 (Bernama) -- The collaborative School Environmental Challenge, organized by The Malaysian Plastics Manufacturers Association (MPMA) with support from Dow Chemical Company and Scientex Berhad, increased the number of participating schools by more than five times since its launch in 2016, signifying a major shift in awareness on the issue of waste management amongst its participating youth.

The programme closed with an awards ceremony to celebrate the fourth consecutive School Environmental Challenge, awarding 34 schools in Alor Gajah, Melaka Tengah and Jasin, Melaka.

The Zero Waste Challenge, which is part of the overall programme, is designed to encourage students to re-think their relationship with waste. It introduced three elements – an education and awareness component; a #PullingOurWeight clean-up component; and a recyclables collection component. The elements are intended to guide students to understand the benefits of plastics, to address environmental issues related to plastics, and to take actions to manage plastics – through waste separation for recycling.

This year, MPMA expanded the programme module to be more forward-looking which emphasised plastics recycling as a core component of an effective waste management and circular economy, in line with its recent white paper titled “An Advanced Plastics Recycling Industry for Malaysia.”

SK Bukit Beringin from Alor Gajah won the “Zero Waste Challenge for the Primary School Category” and took home RM5,000. SK Air Baru from Jasin won RM4,000 for second place, while SJKC Notre Dame from Melaka Tengah won RM3,000 for third place.

SMK Naning from Alor Gajah won the “Zero Waste Challenge for the Secondary School Category” and took home RM5,000, SMK Tun Tuah from Melaka Tengah won RM4,000 for second place, while SMK Seri Mahkota from Jasin won RM3,000 for third place.

INITIAL HYGIENE MALAYSIA "LEAVES NO ONE BEHIND" IN DRIVING COMMUNITY AWARENESS ON HYGIENIC WASHROOM FOR WORLD TOILET DAY

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 15 (Bernama) --  What will you do when you have the urge for nature’s call while out of your comfort home? Will you insist on finding clean public toilets, or just pinch your nose through while getting your “business” done at any nearest public toilet that are unkempt and dirty?

A report from New Straits Times says that 61% out of the 10K public toilet in Malaysia are a disgrace. Only a miserable 3% achieved 5-star ratings, while 10% are too terrible to get even 1-star. Even our Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir commented that he avoids entering the public toilet. The dirty and foul-smelling environment is an embarrassment to everyone. Some of the common sights such as shoes marks heavily stained on the toilet seats, sanitary pads thrown on top of the sanitary bin instead of inside the bin or the hysteric bloody mess on the floor. Eventually public washrooms are labelled as unclean and unhygienic in Malaysia.

World Toilet Day (WTD) falls annually on the 19th of November. The theme for WTD 2019, “Leaving No One Behind”, aims to raise awareness of reducing cross-contamination related diseases and creating healthier communities. Leveraging on WTD driven efforts, it helps to close the sanitation gap with more sustainable access to sanitation services by 2022.

Everyone deserves access to clean and hygienic washrooms, and for sustenance efforts, these will need continuous support from all parties, especially the crucial role coming from employers and facility managers in providing complete and hygienic washroom facilities to internal employees and external visitors.

As a washroom user, we can contribute towards sustenance of clean and hygienic toilet by adopting simple washroom habits such as:-
● flushing after using the toilet,
● for men - aim right while doing your “business”,
● for ladies - ensure the sanitary pad is wrapped properly before disposing into the sanitary bin.

On the other hand, facilities management shall ensure the washroom amenities are adequately provided to employees and visitors, so everyone can practise simple washroom habits while keeping the washroom clean and hygienic at all times.

“Cross-contamination can easily happen as germs can be found anywhere. Hence, it is important to practice good washroom habits to prevent the spread of germs that could affect yourself and the people around you. As a responsible citizen of Malaysia, we have to play our role in keeping our toilets clean and hygienic, thus improving the hygiene standards in Malaysia” said Ms. Carol Lam, the Managing Director of Rentokil Initial Malaysia.

Initial Hygiene Malaysia, stepping up in our efforts to support World Toilet Day’s initiatives, promoting good washroom hygiene through the Hygiene Detective Campaign. Find out more here: http://bit.ly/hygienedetective2019.

PHENOMICS HEALTH INC. ACQUIRES PATENTED PHARMACOMETABOLOMIC TECHNOLOGY

First Integrated Pharmacogenomics and Metabolomics Platform Offers Potential to Improve Patient Outcomes, Lower Costs in Medication Therapy

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Nov 22 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- Phenomics Health Inc., a bioinformatics platform-based precision medicine company, today announced it has acquired the patented pharmacometabolomic technology portfolio of Precera Bioscience, based in Franklin, Tenn.

Phenomics Health plans to integrate the new technology with its own patented, advanced pharmacogenomics platform to offer healthcare providers a more complete view of patients’ potential and actual response to medications than is currently available.

To be marketed under the PrecīsMed brand and licensed to clinical laboratories and healthcare systems, this patented pharmacometabolomic technology enables detection, quantitative measurement, and comprehensive assessment of more than 200 medications in a patient’s bloodstream.

Combined with Phenomics Health’s technology, the resulting information from PrecīsMed will help clinicians personalize drug therapy by determining what medications and dose a patient is actually taking (whether prescribed or not), drug-drug interactions, and how genetics may impact the body’s ability to process those medications.

“This is the first time that both advanced pharmacogenomics and pharmacometabolomics platforms have come together under one roof,” said Dr. James S. Burns, co-founder, Chairman and President, Phenomics Health. “PrecīsMed could help improve patient treatment outcomes, avoid adverse drug reactions, and reduce patient treatment costs – the real definition of precision medicine.”

Current Medication Therapy Remains Ineffective

Studies have found that 33% of medications taken by patients are not in their medical record, and approximately 50% of prescribed medications are not taken at all. In addition, about 55% of medications are taken at levels outside of their prescribed range while another 50% experience significant drug interaction alerts arising from unknown medications.1,2,3,4

“Poor adherence to medication leads to increased morbidity and death and is estimated to incur costs of approximately $100 billion per year5,” according to a report published in the Mayo Clinic Proceedings.

Patients who suffer from comorbid disorders often require treatments with multiple medications, which can result in missed, wrong, or multiple dosages. Additionally, genetics can play a role in determining whether a medication is as effective as it could or should be, as well as disease state, drug-drug interactions, and socio-cultural or environmental conditions.

Clinical studies published in 2018 have demonstrated that PrecīsMed can accurately assess prescribing trends, medication adherence and electronic health record (EHR) coverage, as well as define medication concentrations in patients with comorbid disorders.6

Phenomics Health also plans to use the information gathered from de-identified patient population data to inform its machine learning and AI-based bioinformatics platform, which can be mined for present and future research.

How it Works

A patient’s blood sample is obtained using a simple finger stick. The sample would then be analyzed using Phenomics Health’s patented methods, algorithms, and data analytics to identify and measure medications in a patient’s bloodstream.

The PrecīsMed technology is applicable for identifying medications used in treating multiple patient disorders, including depression, anxiety, chronic pain, post-operative pain, opioid usage, cardiovascular and metabolic disease, diabetes, and hypertension.

“Our newly enhanced platform integrates Phenomics Health’s disease-drug response network discoveries and patient pharmacometabolomic profiles to enhance the precision and predictability of medication selection,” said Dr. Brian D. Athey, co-founder, Chief Science and Technology Officer, Phenomics Health. “The information gathered through its use could change the direction of how clinicians prescribe and manage medications, greatly improving a patient’s response.”
