KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 (Bernama) -- Nearly 200 Chinese and foreign participants gathered in Beijing on June 21 for the "Shenzhen Stories" Promotion Event to feel the charm of its traditional culture and learn about Shenzhen's explorations and practices of Chinese modernisation.

The participants included diplomatic envoys from various countries to China, representatives of international organisations in China, and media representatives, according to Shenzhen Municipal People's Government in a statement.

Co-hosted by the Beijing Service Bureau for Diplomatic Missions and the Publicity Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, this promotion event consisted of three parts, namely Dragon Boat Festival cultural experience; "Shenzhen Stories" themed exhibition; and dance drama "Wing Chun".

Activities like making Zongzi, wearing sachets and woven bracelets, and taking photos in traditional costumes enhanced participants' understanding of traditional Chinese culture.

At the promotion event, the exhibition of famous Shenzhen brands told and explained "Shenzhen Stories" in an all-round way, winning great applause from the diplomatic envoys. They claimed Shenzhen is the window of China's reform and opening up, as well as a wonderful epitome of Chinese modernisation.

Furthermore, Chinese and foreign guests watched the Shenzhen-produced dance drama "Wing Chun", which combines two national intangible cultural heritages, "Wing Chun" and gambiered Canton gauze.

It integrates traditional martial arts with contemporary dance, highlights the unique charm of Lingnan culture, and showcases the spirit of Shenzhen in the new era.

The diplomatic envoys gave a thumbs-up to the performance, stating that the dance drama "Wing Chun" was full of Chinese traditional cultural characteristics and told stories about Shenzhen, Guangdong, the Greater Bay Area, and even China via the beauty of dance and martial arts.

Boomi Selected To Modernise Yazaki-Torres’ Business Systems

KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 (Bernama) -- Boomi, the intelligent connectivity and automation leader, announced that Yazaki-Torres Manufacturing, a Filipino automotive parts manufacturer, has chosen the Boomi platform to modernise its legacy systems.

According to a statement, using Boomi will allow Yazaki-Torres to integrate with the Bureau of Internal Revenue's (BIR) new Electronic Invoicing/Receipting System (EIS), as part of the Philippines government’s move towards digitising tax and administrative systems.

“As governments and the private sector across the Philippines digitalise, organisations like Yazaki-Torres require flexible and scalable integration solutions to navigate increasingly complex IT environments.

“Boomi connects applications, data, people, and devices, enabling our customers to modernise their business systems fast with industry-leading success rates, while giving them confidence that the data connects to all systems internally and externally,” said Boomi Vice President & General Manager, APJ, Thomas Lai.

Meanwhile, Yazaki-Torres Senior Finance Manager, Jonathan Polanco said: “We selected the Boomi platform to integrate Yazaki-Torres' invoice data with the BIR EIS based on its ease of use, flexibility and scalability.”

With the BIR’s new EIS system requiring companies to transmit encrypted sales within three days after a transaction is completed, Yazaki-Torres’ legacy architecture made integrating their invoice data challenging.

To meet the new requirements, the company is deploying an on-premises version of the Boomi platform to move towards digitalisation and connect to the BIR EIS.

As the pioneer of cloud-native integration platform as a service (iPaaS), Boomi celebrates the largest customer base among integration platform vendors; a growing community of more than 100,000 members; and one of the largest arrays of global systems integrators (GSIs) in the iPaaS space.

SAP FIONEER UNVEILS BANKING SOLUTION TAILORED TO SME FINANCIAL NEEDS

KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 (Bernama) -- SAP Fioneer, a global provider of financial services software solutions and platforms, has announced the launch of its Fioneer SME Banking Edition.

The solution will enable banks and neobanks to offer banking capabilities in a digital-first and data-driven approach, tailored to the financial needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), a historically underserved market segment.

In a statement, SAP Fioneer Chief Executive Officer, Dirk Kruse said the introduction of Fioneer SME Banking Edition significantly strengthened how banks interact with SMEs.

“Utilising our proven technology, we are facilitating banks to better serve SMEs in a dynamic economic landscape. Drawing inspiration from the B2C market, we are empowering banks to elevate their service offerings for SMEs,” added Kruse.

The SME sector is a vital component of the global economy, accounting for 99 per cent of the United Kingdom and European Union businesses and employing approximately 16.4 million and 84 million people respectively.

Despite making up a significant proportion of gross domestic product (GDP) and the workforce, SMEs have traditionally struggled to access financial services that meet their unique needs, as the perceived risks and costs associated are deemed too high.

Fioneer SME Banking Edition addresses these challenges by connecting banks to external data sources such as Open Banking, central company registry, e-commerce and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) data, to form actionable insights that significantly help SMEs to stay ahead.

As a unique end-to-end solution, Fioneer SME Banking Edition covers front-to-back capabilities and seamlessly integrates with any core banking system, enabling banks to offer services that go beyond traditional banking products such as loans and deposits.

Banks will be able to broaden their offering with embedded services and stronger financial advice directly for SMEs. The solution can also be easily integrated and connected to ecosystems via pre-configured application programming interfaces.

KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 (Bernama) -- Hitachi Energy, a global technology leader that is advancing a sustainable energy future for all, announced it won an order from Electricity Interconnection France-Spain (Inelfe).

The joint venture brings together operators of the Spanish (Red Eléctrica) and French (RTE) electricity transmission networks, in charge of the construction and commissions of all cross-border connections between both countries.

This is to supply four high-voltage direct current (HVDC) converter stations to interconnect France and Spain via a subsea cable across the Biscay Gulf, according to Hitachi Energy in a statement.

“Through our pioneering HVDC technology, we enable Inelfe to accelerate the two countries' sustainability goals, improving the safety, stability and quality of electricity supply between France and Spain and the rest of Europe,” said Hitachi Energy’s Grid Integration business Managing Director, Niklas Persson.

The Biscay Gulf interconnection, labelled as project of common interest at the European level, will consist of two HVDC links, with a converter station at each end of both systems. Combined, the links will efficiently supply a total of 2,000 megawatts (MW) of electricity at 400 kilovolts (kV) over 400 kilometres (km).

Providing the equivalent of the power consumption of more than two million households, the links will improve the safety, stability and quality of the electricity supply between the two countries.

Inelfe was set up following the 2008 Zaragoza Agreement, between the governments of Spain and France, with the mission to enhance the exchange of electricity between the two countries.

In line with its purpose to champion the urgency of a clean energy transition via innovation and collaboration, Hitachi Energy is collaborating with VINCI, an industry leader in energy and construction.

Together the two companies will provide an advanced solution for the Biscay Gulf project by delivering the engineering and power technologies and the construction of the converter stations.
