KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 5 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Financial Planning
Council (MFPC) has granted recognition to Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris
(UPSI) as an education provider to conduct the Registered Financial Planner
(RFP) and Syariah RFP programmes on its campus.
This
followed the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between MFPC and UPSI.
MFPC, in a
statement, today said the recognition was granted following an objective and
thorough assessment of their application being carried out by MFPC’s Certification
and Continuing Professional Development Board.
“The ability
to nurture graduates with essential life skill is increasingly being recognised
as the basis of personal and professional success. Financial planning is among
a core skill that is essential to be embedded in the curriculum of higher
learning to ensure household indebtedness could be restrained,” said the
statement.
It added
MFPC had promoted and embedded financial planning modules in 25 universities
and was delighted to welcome UPSI as one of its education providers due to its
good reputation and quality of education offered.
Since its
inception in 2004, MFPC has worked towards developing the financial planning
profession through its professional education programmes and introducing several
initiatives and projects to raise the financial literacy of Malaysians from all
walks of life.
