KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 1 (Bernama) -- FastJobs Malaysia (“FastJobs”), award-winning tech-driven job platform, partners with FWD Takaful Berhad (“FWD Takaful”) to provide low-cost takaful coverage to FastJobs’ gig jobseekers for as low as RM31 per month.
This collaboration between the tech-driven job platform and the takaful operator is first-of-its-kind in Malaysia and is in line with the Government’s National Economic Recovery Plan or PENJANA that aims to promote the country’s gig economy and provide a social safety net for gig workers who are mostly independent contractors, online platform workers, contract firm workers, on-call workers, and temporary workers.
Under this initiative, both partners aim to educate Malaysians, especially the youth who are employed as blue-collar and entry-level workers, on the importance and benefits of takaful protection. They also hope to extend takaful benefits and protection to gig workers that are usually offered to those with full-time employment only. Most importantly, both FastJobs and FWD Takaful would like to provide easy access to online hospital cash income plan to this group of beneficiaries at an affordable price.
The complimentary takaful protection, FWD MedSecure Direct (Plan 250), will be offered to first 2,000 FastJobs’ jobseekers for a campaign duration of two (2) months. The plan provides cash allowance during hospitalisation and is offered to Malaysians aged 17 to 60 years old.

Factsheet on FWD Medsecure Direct
FWD MedSecure Direct is an online hospital cash income plan which provides daily cash allowance for every day you’re hospitalised. The plan also offers an option to add accidental medical reimbursement benefits to complete the plan coverage. In addition, participants are entitled to a 20% discount if no claims are made within the past two (2) certificate years, thus contribution amount will reduce by 20% on the next certificate year.
FWD MedSecure Direct offers an individual plan, couple plan, family plan or single parent plan. As for family plan, up to 2 children will be covered and future contributions shall be waived in the event the certificate owner passes away. This feature of waiver of contribution is also made available for couple and single parent plans.
