PKNS Contributes RM110,000 To Welfare Bodies And Tahfiz Centres

SHAH ALAM, June 8 (Bernama) -- The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) handed over tithe totalling RM110,000 to seven welfare bodies including tahfiz centres in Selangor in conjunction with a breaking-the-fast ceremony here tonight.

PKNS chief executive officer Noraida Mohd Yusof said the welfare bodies and tahfiz centres were Sungai Buloh Hospital Malaysian Medical Welfare Fund (TKPM), Rumah Kasih Pertiwi Sungai Buloh, Maahad Tahfiz Pekan Sungai Buloh, Maahad Tahfiz Al-Gontory Kuala Selangor, MyCare Humanitarian Care Malaysia, Hasanah Care Centre, Beranang and National Cancer Council.

"A total of RM50,000 was contributed to TKPM to meet the need of the hospital to help poor Muslims.

"Meanwhile, the other six organisations received RM10,000 each to help in their management costs, and to bring PKNS closer to needy communities," she said here today.

In the meantime, PKNS also feted orphans among its staff and from Rumah Kasih Pertiwi by giving them clothes for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Earlier, about 1,000 guests including PKNS staff attended a breaking-the-fast ceremony which was also enlivened by a performance by popular nasyid (religious songs) group Rabbani.
