MEET THE MOST PROMISING STARTUPS FROM MALAYSIA THAT WILL COMPETE TO BE CROWNED MALAYSIA' BEST STARTUP DURING SEEDSTARS KUALA LUMPUR

On July 20th, 8 of Malaysia’s best seed stage startups will compete to represent the country at the Global Seedstars Summit and win up to USD 1 million in equity investments.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 19 (Bernama) -- 
 Seedstars World, the global seed-stage startup competition for emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes has brought its pre-selection rounds to an end and selected the 8 promising tech startups to pitch at the Seedstars KL pitching event on July 20th at 6pm in Khazanah’s Innovation Centre (Level 26, Mercu UEM, Jalan Stesen Sentral 5). 

Malaysia was previously represented by MyCashOnline, with their innovative e-Marketplace for Migrants who do not have access to online banking or credit cards. 

The top startups to advance to the grand final are:

-  CheQQme: a gamified mobile marketing campaign that converts online users into offline walk-in customers for on-ground retailers. 

-  MoneyMatch: a cheaper way to send money abroad using real exchange rates and no hidden charges. 

-  Moovby: a peer-to-peer car sharing service that allows people to live car-free and safely share cars. 

-  PasarTap: a grocery delivery service that delivers local, farm-fresh produce to your door in a matter of hours. 

-  PolicyStreet: an insurance comparison platform that makes products easy to understand. 

UMAI: a restaurant operations software to help restaurants increase revenue and decrease costs. 

-  ViExAs: documents companies tech development so that decreases inefficiencies and makes sure everyone is on the same page.

-  Bawa Cane: a smart IoT cane that connects to mobile phone applications and wearables to help the visually impaired navigate more easily. 

The startups will pitch in front of a jury that consists of Joseph de Leon from Gravitas Prime, Juliana Jan from Cradle, Hassan Alsagoff from Mountain Partners Malaysia, Rebecca Kux from 500 Startups, and Rosie Keller from Seedstars. 

In order to deliver the best possible event and to provide local entrepreneurs with this opportunity, Seedstars is working closely with their co-organizing partner Khazanah. Further support is provided by Cradle, MaGic, MDEC, the Fintech Association of Malaysia, Grab and the Vulcan Post.
