Takaful provider’s first online medical plan that prioritises the needs and addresses key challenges faced by people with learning disabilities
KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 (Bernama) -- FWD Takaful Berhad (“FWD Takaful”) today announced the launch of FWD SpecialMed, an online medical plan tailored to prioritise the needs and resolve key challenges faced by people with mild to moderate learning disabilities when obtaining medical care.
Through an in-depth study of this segment, FWD Takaful discovered how medical care can be both difficult to obtain and a stressful experience for most people with learning disabilities. Many takaful providers or insurers have strict exclusion policies, even for people with mild disabilities. While public healthcare is available, an ill or injured person with learning disabilities may find the waiting times, busy environment and the inability to meet a familiar doctor particularly challenging.
