MALINDO AIR'S TRAVEL ADVISORY FOR HOLIDAY SEASON

PETALING JAYA, Nov 30 (Bernama) -- Malindo Air would like to encourage all passengers travelling during this holiday period to arrive at the airport at least 3-hour prior to scheduled time of departure for Malindo Air’s flights to clear all travel formalities and to avoid the expected passengers traffic congestion. The check-in counter will be closed 60 minutes before flight departure time at KLIA and 30 minutes before at Subang Skypark.

As congestion is expected at the security scanning, baggage clearance and immigration checkpoints during this holiday season, it is advisable to complete baggage drop and proceed to the boarding gate as early as possible.

Malindo Air’s passengers may also conduct self-check-in via web or at the self-check-in kiosk at KLIA. Self-check-in on web is available 48 hours to 4 hours prior to flight’s standard departure time (SDT). For passengers departing from KLIA, boarding passes can either be printed or downloaded to their mobile devices and passengers who travel without check-in baggage may proceed directly to security check.  On the other hand, the self-check-in kiosk at KLIA opens 24 hours before and closes 75 minutes before flight's SDT. All check-in baggage will be handled at the bag drop counter dedicated for self-check-in passengers.

Another option is available for passengers who travel on KLIA Ekspress train service. Check-in to Malindo Air’s flight and baggage can be done at Malindo Air check-in counter located in KL Sentral station, minimum 2 hours before departure for international flights and 1.5 hours for domestic flights without checked baggage.

Passengers under group booking, reduced mobility or with special needs are only allowed to check-in at the counter and should allocate more time to clear all travelling formalities.

One piece of cabin baggage (with the dimension of H 56cm x L 36cm x W 23cm) and one laptop bag or handbag or small bag is accepted for hand carry on board, with a total weight limit of up to 7kg for Economy Class and 10kg for Business Class passengers.

Check-in baggage allowance is 25kg (35kg for Dhaka and Chittagong) for Economy Class and 40kg for Business Class. As for flights departing from Subang Skypark, Ipoh and Melaka, baggage allowance is up to 15kg per passenger.  Additional baggage charge (per kg) starts from a minimum of 3kg.

The airline also encourages their passengers to pre-book sufficient baggage weight via “Manage My Booking” at www.malindoair.com or Malindo Air mobile app for more savings and convenience. The service is available up to 4 hours before the SDT.
