KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation – Selangor Chapter (MCPF Selangor) would like to publicly commend the Selangor Police on its recent achievement in successfully foiling an armed robbery attempt at a goldsmith outlet in Kuchai Lama.
A team from PDRM’s Selangor Serious Crimes Division responded to a call about suspicious activity when they ran into a gang of six robbers fresh from a goldsmith heist at a mall in Kuchai Lama at 4.30 pm on November 21, 2018.
The robbers had opened fire in public, and a shootout had ensued. Five robbers were shot dead, and another was arrested. No civilians were hurt and the police seized two firearms, an axe and machete and two cars which were involved in the heist.
The PDRM has recently released information that the gang was behind several robberies at jewellery stores, and also often stole luxury cars and robbed homes and moneychangers.
