Qianhai launches 1 bln yuan fund to develop, grow services industry

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 (Bernama) -- The Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone (Qianhai Authority) in Qianhai New District, Shenzhen, China, has earmarked at least 1 billion yuan annually for an industrial support fund and industrial space of over 200,000 square kilometres to develop the services industry. (100 yuan = RM66.40)

The Qianhai Authority said a wide range of incentives would also be provided as part of the Qianhai Global Service Providers (QGSP) programme.

"By 2025, QGSP will have more than 300 modern service providers from around the world and achieve an added value of over 100 billion yuan in the modern service sector," it said in a statement.

The Qianhai Authority launched the QGSP programme at the 2022 Qianhai Global Investment Promotion Conference, which commenced on Nov 8.

Qianhai has fostered a full-fledged, multi-level professional judicial system to settle disputes in business, finance, intellectual property, and other important areas, said the Qianhai Authority.

"To satisfy businesses' urgent demand for talent, Qianhai has developed an international talent hub and an international talent one-stop service centre and enabled qualified professionals from Hong Kong and Macao in 16 categories, such as construction engineering and taxation, to register to practise in Qianhai.

"By deepening reforms in simplifying investment and trade, accelerating innovations in finance and legalisation, and developing pilot programs in talent management, Qianhai has become a fertile ground for investment and business ventures," it added.
