KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- Leaders of information and communications technology (ICT) industry from Taiwan and six other countries in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region have signed the "Digital Asia Joint Declaration" to foster digital technology industry collaboration, at the Digital Asia Forum 2023.

Hosted by the Information Service Industry Association of ROC (CISA), the forum gathered top digital policy officials, information service and software industry leaders, and academic experts from 10 APAC countries, in Taiwan.

At the same time, Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO), an international organisation, also signed a "Sustainable Transformation" with Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI), hoping to use digital technology to create a sustainable future.

CISA and ASOCIO Chairman, Brian Shen said Digital Asia Declaration indicated strong commitment of APAC countries to cooperate and develop together.

“ASOCIO not only helps Taiwan's ICT industry connect with the Asia Pacific business community, but also increases the visibility of Taiwan's manufacturers.

“How to leverage the resources of ASOCIO's industry, government, academia, research and information sectors will also be CISA's long-term goal,” said Shen in a statement.

CISA signed several cooperation agreements, including "Taiwan-Japan Digital Technology Strategy Cooperation" with NTT Data Taiwan Co Ltd and "Cybersecurity Cooperation" with Japan Network Security Association (JNSA).

The association also partnered with Singapore's digital technology certification agency (iTrain Asia Pte Ltd) and CrossBond International Brand Consultant to expand digital talents in Southeast Asia and match business opportunities for both sides.

The cooperation series signed by Digital Asia will strengthen international ties, positioning Taiwan as a key digital technology country in the APAC region.
